The place to be in the summer, but in January you can get all of the perks without the usual crowds. This weekend breaks UK at Soho Farmhouse in Great Tew, Oxfordshire is all about relaxation and taking it easy. Soho Farmhouse provides the perfect antidote to city life with its lush greenery,  indoor and outdoor pools, spa, good food at restaurants such as Pen Yen whilst also providing a chance to make the most of the great outdoors whether biking, boating or horse riding. This famous member spot, as of Sept 2020, can be booked by non members, but Soho House may revoke this open access in 2020. Within 2 hrs of London this is a great weekend breaks UK.

SOHO FARMHOUSE

4/5

Soho Farmhouse is beautiful and a great way to spend a few days. You can choose from cabins or book the farmhouse for a group stay. From their breakfast cart that makes visits to the cabins in the mornings to the tennis courts and private lake, Soho Farmhouse has plenty of unique features.

Soho Farmhouse can get busy, so it’s advised to book meals, whether it be in the Main Barn (comfy farm for a casual experience or fancy farm for something more formal), Hay Barn (pizza, pasta, meat, fish), Barwell Barn for Sunday roast and Pen Yen, the Japanese restaurant where you can work during the day. Barwell Barn can be one of the move livelier spots later on.

cOWSHED SPA

4.6/5

Heaven, simply heaven. From the moment you walk in, the aromas completely relax you. Pick from a full body massage, facials, grooming or waxing, take your pick.

Part of the experience of staying at one of the Soho House properties is the Cowshed products, but it’s worth booking ahead for a spa treatment as the Spa provides a zen den at Soho Farmhouse.

Don’t forget to make use of the indoor and outdoor pools, hot tubs and gym. Tip – if the hot tub feels cold, there is a little value you need to turn on the rim of the tub.

⁨TIPS AND TRICKS WEEKEND BREAKS UK

The one thing that can let the stay down is the service, but if you’e been to any of the Soho House properties, you’ll know that this  you can often wait to receive your food and drinks. The management deal with the situation well but it was still a disappointment

If travelling from London, you can get a train from Paddington to Charlbury Station and take a taxi (£20-30) to Farmhouse. Parking is amble at Soho Farmhouse so if you can drive, it is the more convenient and cost effective option.

Try a Picante, a spicy margarita, at around £11 a glass.
