The Newt UK and Hauser & Wirth Gallery

Emma

A perfect stay at The Newt UK (the best hotel we’ve ever stayed in!), followed by a trip to Bruton and the Hauser & Wirth gallery. If that wasn’t enough we also had a pit stop at The Pig on the way home for a late lunch of wood fired pizza and a glass of vino!

THE NEWT UK

5/5

This was the most fabulous hotel we have been to and it’s really special.

The bar was in a gorgeous setting, and having a drink sat outside overlooking the grounds was glorious. The bar man was knowledgeable and made a mean margarita! The only negative was that the menu was the same both nights and it was a set menu.

The hotel was very kid friendly and staff were lovely to our baby (cots and high chairs were provided).

A free glass of cider for guests around 5ish – what’s not to like?!

The hotel was just incredible and highlights included, having a glass of wine overlooking the crochet lawn and the pool was the nicest we have been in.

THE NEWT INTERIORS AND GROUNDS

5/5
Loved the decor, furniture, room and grounds. We had a loft room, which was lovely and  spacious enough. Nice touch with the snack tray and fridge stocked with juices to help yourself. The garden restaurant in the grounds was fab for lunch. All local ingredients and very vegetarian friendly. Free morning yoga session with a lovely (very good looking) teacher. Also who knew that I would be joined by the billionaire owners of Babylonstoren, who later stopped me in the garden grounds to ask how I found it.

HAUSER & WIRTH GALLERY Bruton, SOMERSET

4.5/5

Entrance to the garden is free and they are centred around a core belief in conservation, education and sustainability.

These impressive landscaped gardens are  designed by Piet Oudolf and sit behind the gallery and is home to changing programme of outdoor sculptures.

If staying we could we would have eaten in Bruton at either Osip or At the Chapel.

If I had more time… so many incredible things about the hotel! so it would be spending more time relaxing at the Newt and having a massage.  Likewise more time in Bruton e.g. eat at Osip (from the people behind the clove club) and At the Chapel restaurant.

If we had less time…I’d prioritise relaxing at the pool and spa in the Newt.
