SAILING THE NORFOLK BROADS

5/5

Ahoy matey! It’s amazing how much you can learn in such a short space of time. I learnt that sailing in a straight line is not my forte – but show me a knot once and I’m ready to secure or up the sails!

Time to get the mast lowered at Potter Heigham bridge! It will never cease to amaze me how such a tall boat can fit under such a low bridge! Incredible craftsmanship.

How amazing are these guys! They were so curious – keeping popping up to see if we were still there – as were we, staring right back! Such an amazing sight to see on our morning walk before setting sail again.

Mooring up for the night in Horsey was a gift that kept on giving! A super tranquil spot with an awesome pub nearby (Nelson Head) for dinner and a post lesson local beer or two, and then this beautiful beach just a short walk away. Such a great way to disconnect from city living.

Making new friends as we moored up for the night to sleep under the stars aboard our beautiful Seabreeze

If I had more time…  Oh I could easily do 5 days to a week of this. After 3 days of learnig to sail, we were feeling pretty copetent and so I’m very much looking forward to heading back and setting sail solo to put these new skills into practice.

If we had less time…To learn the basics of sailing this is perfect – if you already know how to sail, an overnight stay might well be enough to just hire the boat and go.
