NORTHERN LIGHTS REYKJAVIK ICELAND
Northern Lights Reykjavik Iceland is just a few degrees south of the Artic Circle providing natural wonders and spectatular scenery by the bucket load. Most visit Reykjavik for the Northern Lights, but that natural phenomenon is notorious unpredictable (see below for tips on how to maximise your viewing chances). We were lucky and saw the light in full glory, but it Lady Luck isn’t on your side, there is a lot more to do in Reykjavik. We went to the Blue Lagoon and focussed on sampling the Icelandic delicacies, but you could also visit the Golden Circle or go whale watching.

ReYKJAVIK ICELAND
I don’t think you ever forget this. The dancing waves of magic light were breathtaking. Yes it was cold and we weren’t guaranteed a “show”, but they did not disappoint. The trip was worth sensational and I don’t use that word lightly.
You can book a tour (see below) to see the lights or if it’s dark enough (and the other conditions align) you can see the lights from Reykjavik. The best spots are by the Grótta lighthouse or on the Seltjarnarnes Peninsula (the capital’s most north western point).
In terms of booking, go with a small group tour to allow for maximum agility to chase the lights – don’t be tempted by the false economy of the large bus tour. Oh and wrap up warm – it is beyond cold when you’re stood outside for a while watching the lights dance!
