Belmond Le Manoir, Oxford, UK

Oxfordshire heritage meets French flair, Belmond Le Manoir Oxford is one for the foodies. Tucked away in the picturesque countryside, this 15th-century manor sets the standard for haute cuisine. Holding Michelin stars for an astounding 30 years, with ingredients from the Manor grounds, it’s impressive without being too pretentious, rather it’s quite warm and comforting.

Fine dining (we’d recommend taking the opportunity to dress up a little versus being too casual) and beautiful English countryside, what more do you need for a weekend break? Get saving as this is Britain’s priciest restaurant, but the attention to detail is clear to see, the flowers, the food and wine, the details in the rooms are all selected to pair perfectly. Expect to pay around £125 for a seven course tasting menu.

Luxury personified with each suite being uniquely styled and themed. Comfort is par for the course with every desire being catered for from the steam showers through to the choice of duvet or blankets pre arrival and the decadent lounge area centered around a fireplace. A stay at Le Manoir is like nowhere else.
